This one runs entirely in the page: the file is read by your browser, drawn to a canvas and cropped there, so a photo of your family or a screenshot of something confidential never travels anywhere.
The crop box shows you the real pixel dimensions as you drag, not just a shape on screen, which matters when a site has a minimum size. Lock an aspect ratio when the shape is what counts — a square avatar, a 16:9 cover — or pick one of the presets to get both the shape and the exact output size a platform expects, like 1080×1080 for an Instagram post or 1280×720 for a YouTube thumbnail.

Frequently asked questions
Does cropping reduce the quality of my photo?
Cropping itself only discards the pixels outside the box. Re-encoding as JPEG or WebP is lossy, so keep the quality slider high, or choose PNG for a lossless result. Saving a JPEG at 92% is visually identical to the original for almost any photograph.
How do I crop an image to an exact size like 1080×1080?
Pick it from the preset list. The crop box locks to that shape and the output is scaled to exactly those pixel dimensions, whether the area you selected was larger or smaller.
Can I crop to a circle?
Not here. Crop to a square, and the site you upload to — a profile picture, an avatar — will mask it into a circle itself. A genuinely round image needs transparency, which rules out JPEG.
What happens to transparency?
PNG and WebP keep it. JPEG cannot store transparency at all, so transparent areas are filled with white rather than turning black.
Why is my crop box smaller than the photo I see?
The photo is scaled down to fit the page, but the crop is always calculated in the image’s real pixels. The dimensions shown under the box are the true output size.
Is the image uploaded?
No. It is read from your device, cropped on a canvas in your browser and handed back as a download. Nothing is sent to a server.
