Privacy Policy

Deresaw Tools is built so that there is as little of your data to protect as possible. This page explains exactly what happens to the things you type, upload and click.

Last updated: 2 October 2026

The short version

  • The files and figures you put into a tool stay on your device. They are never uploaded to us.
  • We do not ask you to create an account, and we have no database of users.
  • We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it with anyone except the service providers named below.
  • Like most websites, we use Google Analytics and show Google ads. Those set cookies and are described in detail below.

Who we are

Deresaw Tools (deresaw.com) is operated by Deresaw Infotech, a software company founded in 2017. For anything in this policy, including a request about your data, contact us at contact@deresaw.com.

1. The tools themselves

Every calculator, converter, text tool, image tool and PDF tool on this site runs as JavaScript inside your own browser. When you drop in a PDF, choose a photo or type a salary, that data is processed by your own device and never crosses the network. We do not receive it, we cannot see it, and there is nothing for us to store or delete.

You can verify this yourself: open your browser’s developer tools, switch to the Network tab, and use any tool. Your input never appears in a request. You can also disconnect from the internet once a tool page has fully loaded and the tool will keep working, because everything it needs was downloaded with the page (see section 2).

When you close or reload the page, anything the tool was holding is gone.

2. What tool pages download

Some tool pages download something from another server when they open. None of these downloads contains anything you entered.

Code libraries. The PDF tools, the HEIC to JPG converter, the YAML to JSON converter and the QR Code Generator use well-known open-source libraries — pdf-lib, PDF.js, heic2any, js-yaml and qrcode-generator — loaded from cdnjs, a public library host operated by Cloudflare. Your browser downloads that code when the page loads; the files you then open are processed by it on your own device and are never sent to cdnjs. As with any web request, cdnjs sees your IP address and which library was requested. See the Cloudflare privacy policy.

Exchange rates. The Currency Converter needs exchange rates, which do not exist on your device. When the page opens it requests them from Frankfurter, falling back to ExchangeRate-API if that is unavailable. That request contains only the currency codes — for example, that rates against the US dollar were requested. The amount you type is never part of it. Every conversion is then done on your device. Those providers will also see your IP address.

3. Things stored in your browser

The Invoice Generator saves your draft invoice in your browser’s local storage, so your business details are still there when you come back. That data stays on your device; it is not sent to us and we cannot read it. Clearing your browser’s site data for deresaw.com removes it. No other tool stores anything.

4. Server logs

The site is hosted on Bluehost. Like effectively every web server, it keeps access logs that record the IP address, the page requested, the time, the browser’s user-agent string and the referring page. These are used to keep the site running and secure — diagnosing errors, investigating abuse — and are not combined with anything else to identify you.

5. The contact form

If you send us a message, the name, email address and message you enter are emailed to us and kept so we can reply and keep a record of the conversation. We use that information only to answer you. The form is protected by Akismet, an anti-spam service from Automattic, which checks submissions for spam; see the Automattic privacy policy.

6. Analytics

We use Google Analytics, connected through Google Site Kit, to understand which tools people use and which pages are broken or slow. It records pages viewed, approximate location (country or city level, from the IP address), device and browser type, and how you arrived at the site.

Analytics measures pages, not the contents of tools. It never receives what you type into a calculator or the files you open in a PDF or image tool — that data never leaves your device in the first place. You can opt out across all sites with Google’s browser add-on.

7. Advertising

The tools are free and are paid for by advertising. We use Google AdSense. Google and its partners use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads and measure them, and may show ads based on your previous visits to this and other sites.

You can review and change what Google uses for advertising at My Ad Center, and opt out of personalised advertising from participating companies at optout.aboutads.info. Google’s own practices are described in How Google uses information from sites that use its services.

If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, a consent message asks for your choice before personalised advertising cookies are set, and you can change that choice at any time from the link in the message or in our site footer.

8. Cookies

We set no cookies of our own for tracking or advertising. The cookies on this site come from Google Analytics and Google AdSense, as described above, and from WordPress — which sets a cookie only if you leave a comment or log in as a site administrator.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The tools will continue to work normally if you do.

9. What we do not do

  • We do not sell or rent personal information.
  • We do not upload, inspect, copy or keep the files you open in our tools.
  • We do not require an account, and we do not build user profiles.
  • We do not send marketing email. The only email you will get from us is a reply to one you sent.

10. Legal basis and your rights

If you are in the EEA or the UK, we rely on our legitimate interest in operating and securing the site for server logs and basic analytics, on your consent for personalised advertising cookies, and on taking steps at your request for the contact form.

You have the right to ask what personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to object to or restrict how we use it, to receive a copy of it, and to withdraw consent at any time. In practice the only personal data we are likely to hold is an email conversation you started. Write to contact@deresaw.com and we will respond within 30 days. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.

11. Children

This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

12. Changes to this policy

If we change how the site handles data, we will update this page and change the date at the top. Significant changes will be noted on the page itself.

13. Contact

Questions about this policy, or about anything else on the site, go to contact@deresaw.com.
