About this tool
Useful for essays with a word limit, meta descriptions, tweets, LinkedIn posts, ad copy and anywhere length matters. Reading time assumes 238 words per minute (the average adult silent reading rate); speaking time assumes 150 words per minute, a typical presentation pace.
Words are counted as sequences of letters or digits separated by whitespace, so hyphenated words count as one and numbers count as words.
