Frequently asked questions
What is the quickest way to estimate Celsius to Fahrenheit in my head?
Double the Celsius value and add 30. It's not exact (20 °C → 70 °F instead of 68), but close enough for weather.
Why does Kelvin have no degree sign?
Kelvin is an absolute scale starting at absolute zero, so it's written simply as K (e.g. 300 K), not °K.
At what temperature are Celsius and Fahrenheit equal?
At −40. −40 °C is exactly −40 °F.
